Three men who have spent 2026 suing, insulting, and undercutting each other all said the same sentence on the same Saturday.

Sit with the company for a second. Altman and Amodei have been at each other publicly for months, complete with an “ok boomer” jab over pricing and a reported refusal to hold hands for a photo at India’s AI summit. Musk co-founded OpenAI with Altman, is suing it, previously called Anthropic “evil,” and only recently cooled off enough to let Anthropic take over compute capacity at his Colossus 1 data center. These are not three colleagues arriving independently at wisdom. These are the three front-runners in the most expensive race in industrial history, and they have just agreed that everyone should drive a little slower.
